After a thorough dental exam, the dentist will decide if you are a good candidate for the procedure. The sensitive areas of the mouth, like the gums and lips, are first protected.

Then a special bleaching agent is applied to the teeth and a special light is used to activate the bleaching agent so that it penetrates the teeth and removes the stains. The tooth enamel and dentin are bleached but not damaged in any way. The whole procedure only takes about an hour.
